Chicago based Rhythm Rockets release the first disc, of a two disc set, titled She Swings Blue- Volume 1: The Joint Is Jumpin. This 14 track album is focused on the uptempo numbers that the band recorded in four sessions over a two year period. The Rhythm Rockets present a hard swinging, traditional vibe to the post-war era Rhythm & Blues selections included on this album. Fronted by veteran vocalist, Nicole Kestler, this band pays tribute to the pioneering woman of early Rhythm & Blues. Artists such as: Dinah Washington, Etta James, Ruth Brown, Annie Laurie, Big Maybelle Smith, Ella Mae Morse, Peggy Lee, Ella Johnson and more.
